Scott Tew, one of the founders of Capstone Valuation Advisors, is the Executive Managing Director responsible for strategic planning and finance for the firm. In addition, Tew’s focus is on the daily management of the Orlando market.

Under his direction, Capstone Valuation Advisors has grown to become one of Florida’s largest privately-owned commercial appraisal practices.
Since 1991, Tew has been engaged in appraisal and consulting assignments for thousands of commercial properties. His expertise ranges from owner-user properties to income-producing investments to complex multi-tenant assets. He specializes in complex valuations for entitled land, subdivisions, hotels and auto dealerships. Over the course of Tew’s career, he has formed long lasting, solid relationships with all his clients.
Prior to Capstone Valuation Advisors, Tew held senior managing director, management and analyst positions for notable firms such as CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield and Grubb & Ellis Landauer in their valuation advisory service units.
Tew received a Master’s degree from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida. He holds State Certified General Real Estate Appraisal licenses in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, North Carolina and Colorado. As well, he is a long-standing member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI). Previously, he has held a director’s position on the East Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute for a number of years.



Ryan L. Zink, MAI
Senior Managing Director | Partner | Tampa
Ryan L. Zink, MAI, is a co-founder of Capstone Valuation Advisors, and is the Senior Managing Director with day-to-day management responsibilities in the Tampa market.
Ryan L. Zink, MAI, is a co-founder of Capstone Valuation Advisors, and is the Senior Managing Director with day-to-day management responsibilities in the Tampa market.
He is responsible for Capstone Valuation Advisors’ quick success and growth in the Tampa market.
Since 1996, Zink has been appraising commercial property ranging from owner-user investments to complex income producing assets. He specializes in assets such as restaurants, gas station-convenience stores, medical office buildings, schools, churches, day care facilities, auto dealerships, shopping centers, office, industrial developments and residential subdivisions. Zink also has significant agricultural experience with valuing timber land, improved pasture, cropland, citrus groves, blueberry farms, sugarcane, poultry farms, wetland mitigation banks, and other similar uses.
Prior to Capstone Valuation Advisors, Zink was Managing Director of the Central and West Florida regions for Grubb & Ellis Landauer. He previously held Senior Analyst and Senior Appraiser positions for Integra Realty Resources-Orlando and Clayton, Roper & Marshall.
Zink received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Indiana University, with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He earned the prestigious MAI designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute and continues to take a variety of professional development classes. He currently serves as Trustee of the Appraisal Institute Education Trust and has held various other positions including the Board of Directors for Region X, Director of University Relations for Region X, and all officer positions for the East Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. For three years, Zink has attended the Leadership Development and Advisory Council (LDAC), on behalf of the Appraisal Institute, in Washington D.C., where he has lobbied United States Senators and Congressmen on legislation impacting the appraisal profession and has also lobbied on State level in Tallahassee. Zink has also published articles in Valuation magazine, which is a publication of the Appraisal Institute.


James Toro II, MAI, SRA
Senior Managing Director | Partner | Jacksonville-Tallahassee
James Toro II, MAI, SRA, co-founder of Capstone Valuation Advisors, is the Senior Managing Director with day-to-day management responsibilities in the Jacksonville and Tallahassee markets. Toro’s focus is to rapidly grow the North Florida headquarters and to successfully become a leader in the market.

Toro’s focus is to rapidly grow the North Florida headquarters and to successfully become a leader in the market.
Since 1984, Toro has lead the commercial and residential appraisal market in owner-user investments and complex income producing asset valuations. His experience is in building types such as: shopping centers, office developments, industrial facilities, apartment communities, gas station/c-stores, restaurants, automobile dealerships, residential subdivisions, religious facilities, pasture, timber lands, wetlands, conservation easements, mitigation banks, special purpose properties, and various other uses.
Prior to Capstone Valuation Advisors, Toro was Managing Director of the North Florida region for Grubb & Ellis Landauer. He was previously a Partner in Toro, Burns & Associates, and a Senior Appraiser for Broom, Moody, Johnson, & Grainger, Inc.
Toro received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stetson University and has also earned the prestigious MAI and SRA designations, both awarded by the Appraisal Institute. Toro is active in VA and court-related residential cases. Additionally, he serves as Second Vice President for the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Toro is an approved seminar instructor for the Appraisal Institute and continues to take a variety professional development classes.
